WINTER LABYRINTH

My intention to make a labyrinth in the snow has been realized.

During my latest walking holiday in Germany, one week before Christmas, in December 2008, it appeared that there was still a lot of snow there. In any case, enough to realize my wish.

It still was a puzzle to me what to use from nature to make this snow labyrinth. After a discussion with my husband I decided to use a soft broom to mark the paths. This resulted into the following effort:

So this was a quick result but not really the one I had envisioned in my mind.

To make the middle a little bit more outstanding I placed some Žapples of orangeŽ in it:

So far so good, but what I really wanted was a more stylish labyrinth, suitable to the time of the year, with fir branches.

And my wish was immediately fulfilled when my eye fell on a beautiful fir-tree, which was heavily filled with branches and really could use some enlightenment :).

Very carefully I have released him from some heavy branches and given them a new destination:

This is already beginning to look like what I have envisioned in my mind. Yet I want to lay something special natural in the middle. What is more natural than fruit?

With greetings from the heart phone :)

This fruit is too delicious to me to leave it there, so another idea rose into my mind to put something in there for the birds:

A peanut heart that does very well under the mistletoe too:

The heart tasted delicious!

I made some vertical pictures of the winter labyrinth and it struck me that it looked very much like a face. Especially with that little peanut heart:

So this labyrinth again is a symbolical expression of all the possibilities it can hold within.

By making this labyrinth, I have had so much pleasure and fulfilment, that I am reflecting with gratitude to yet another creative celebration of life.

I would like to wish this to every one in the New Year: the celebration of life in a creative way!
